Yoshie is from our ESOL class and is making fantastic progress with her English due to her conscientious efforts.
Here is one of her stories:
Ouch in my jeans
I visited Melbourne and the Great Ocean Road with my husband during the last week of December last year for the first time.
At first we went to the gardens in Melbourne. They were lovely and fun!
In one of the gardens there was Captain Cook’s house which came from England.
It was very interesting. I learnt about old life in England.
Next we went to the Great Ocean Road. That’s great! The sea is beautiful!
We spent a little time and took some photos on the beach.
We had a good time. Then we got into our car to go to another place.
“Ouch!” I shouted.
“What’s happened?” my husband said.
“Ouch!!” I shouted again. “Something is in my jeans. What, what??”
I looked at my legs. There was a bull ant on my ankle. “An ant! A big ant is here!”
“I think you were bitten by an ant. Take your jeans off !” he said.
So I took my jeans off quickly. Another ant was on my thigh. I had been bitten twice.
I felt more and more pain.
“Ouch! Ouch!” I continued to shout and left my jeans off for an hour while we drove in the car….
