Lenny

Lenny is one of our ESOL students. Here is one of his stories:

I was born in Sicily, Italy 21 -3- 1949. My mother was Angela and my father Peter. My sister, Francesca, was born 3 years before me. We had a vegetable farm and we would take vegetables with horse to the shop in the town.

We came to Australia, to Leeton, when I was 13. My sister and brother-in-law were living here by then. One year later I started high school. After two years I went to work for the council. I stayed working there for 32years before I retired.

I met my wife, Mary, when I was about 20 and we married when I was 25 on 26-10-68. It was an arranged marriage between our families.
